5B. DISCUSS the strategies and critique each, pointing out the strength and weaknesses in each.

5C. Make recommendations to both or any of the companies

Important notes:

1. You have to conduct SWOT analysis of the company you are writing on, and compare with that of another company(All Canadian). Meaning there has to be 2 SWOT analysis. The lecturer warned that we should not devote more than 20% of the work on SWOT analysis as his previous classes erroneously thought the whole assignment is on SWOT analysis. SWOT will only enable you to analyse the company and make an informed write-up with good recommendations.

2. You must bring-in concepts from biz ethics, HR, Operations management and every other business concept we have learned in previous classes, including digital transformation in this case analysis.

Case Analysis

In this case study, you’re expected to research and investigate the strategy that a local company of your choice is using to stay on the top of the game and successfully compete against other companies in the market. Starting with SWOT analysis (should not be more than 20% of the assignment), this should include all levels of strategy, business, corporate and international. You should highlight what they are doing well and what they should work on to improve company performance. You should also compare between the company of your choice and another company to evaluate its strategy.

You need to support your argument with at least 10 academic and nonacademic references.

Examples of Canadian companies would be SNC-Lavalin, Canadian Goose, Shopify, Suncor, Encana, CGI Inc., Linamar, Canfor, Lulu lemon, Maple Leaf Foods, Blackberry, and Bombardier.

Using APA, you are expected to write no less than 3500 words. This assignment is due in Week 4.
